I'm going to guess that the trauma of surgery takes a toll on the body. Aside from getting little sleep this past week I feel extremely run down and have a complete lack of energy. Currently taking iron, vitamin D and Fosimax. (as per Dr Gross's protocol for marginal dexascan results). I'm wondering if there are any supplements to help bounce back from surgery. Thanks
I didn't take any vitamins or supplements, but was very careful about my diet the first four to six weeks, post op and ate lots of protein, fruits and veggies, and whole grains. I didn't have much appetite the first week or so due to the pain killers and the constipation and so wasn't eating much. That translated into feeling very weak, especially in the mornings. Once I got my GI tract moving again, I made myself eat more and felt much better. I had to add an afternoon snack, too, as we were eating dinner pretty late and going so long without food made me feel weak.
