Title: Right Hip Resurfacing with De Smet - 18 months post op
Post by: vonhouser on September 13, 2018, 03:34:37 PM
I'm happy to report that I LOVE my new hip. I had follow-up xrays which shoed everything looking good, and my non-op hip in perfect shape, as well.

Last year I decided to try racing (I've been rowing for 9 years, but not racing, and the pain was unbearable by the end). I'm happy to report that at the end of this month I am going to FISA Worlds in Florida to race SIX times in three days. Kind of crazy.

I still have trouble with my glute medius, which has been down and out for over a decade, but with PT, strength training, and dry needling, it's coming back. That piece just takes time.

So happy I had this surgery, and so grateful for Pat and the people on this site who gave me so much valuable information.

Sounds like you are doing great.  Thanks for the update.  I wish you the very best in Florida.

Let us know how you are doing when you have time.

Good Luck.

Pat

What a great come back story!

Those little issues will get solved. I am three years out and still improving---and it is the little things that are falling into place.
