Title: impingement problems / 15 months post op
Post by: 2down on September 23, 2018, 05:35:47 PM
It appears that my left hip resurfacing done 15 months ago has resulted in off set of acetabular component impinging on femoral range of motion.  Affects walking, hip flexor range of motion, daily discomfort and pain. Trying to stay active for overall general heath. Recent visit with surgeon has confirmed that component could be placed deeper into hip socket to alleviate problem. Has anyone else had experiences like this?

Wow. That's a real bummer. No, not my experience. I think everyone has the surgery knowing there can be complications, even long after the surgery, but no one ever expects to be the one. It sounds like you will need a second surgery for this problem. I hope it is successful for you. Best wishes.

I know, that's true.  I did have a successful resurfacing on my other hip in 2012. Anyway thanks for your good wishes, it does help!

Hi 2down,

What were your symptoms of this? I am worried mine is off. Im 13 months and have pain and limited motion flexing my hip beyond 95 degrees and across my chest. External rotation is ok. Also get groin pain here and there, but has improved since about 8-9 month mark.

Thanks,

Josh
