Title: Birmingham Hip "Dual Mobility Insert"

Anyone heard of this? Looks like Smith and Nephew filed Section 510k with the FDA so this should be something coming soon?

I'm debating the pros/cons of retaining the BHR cup, and using a dual mobility femoral component as per a couple of surgeon's suggestion, and came across this while reading up on the topic.

Interesting that there may soon be a device specifically made for "partial" revisions where the BHR cup is retained? I assume it will be very similar to a standard dual mobility femoral component, which is usually a ceramic head, which articulates inside a larger poly head, which then articulates in the BHR metal cup.
