I am sick of this pain and not being able to lift my leg as I want. Fortunately I can still do a lot of things, but I need to figure out what to try and where to start. I have tried PT. No help. I’m trying another PT who does dry needling. I’m thinking of trying shockwave therapy. I’ve had good success with this on my Achilles before, but I don’t see any data of it being used on psoas tendonitis with or without hip replacement or resurfacing.
I would also like to know if anyone has had psoas lengthening surgery and whether that was successful.
Thanks!
I recently had a psoas injection it has helped reduce some of the pain. The injections are hot or miss. Have you tried injection in the past?
Thanks,
Larry
I had a steroid injection. The dr said if he put it in my joint it would reach the psoas tendon but it didn’t. I don’t want to try again bcs I just ruptured my rotator cuff (shoulder) after having a couple steroid injections.
I’ve had shock wave treatment, it didn’t help.
Have you tried. Tri-nitrate patches? The studies support this.
I’ve done prp, stem cells, tri nitrate, shock wave, Physio/eccentric loading to no avail. I’m having a surgical release next month.
If it’s not too bad youlll have a good chance of fixing it. Slow and steady rehab.
Forgot to say, I had my other psoas release surgery for impingement in October. Central compartment release. It worked but I then got scar tissue so im having it redone next month along with my other psoas for tendinopathy.
The surgery was very easy. I just overdid the rehab.
