Title: New resurfacing
Post by: georgegerhard on April 02, 2019, 06:46:50 PM
Hello all
I just wanted to share my recent experience
I am a male age 61 very active in karate and weightlifting many years
Last Friday March 29th I had my right hip resurfaced at the Hospital for
Special Surgery in NYC.
I was discharged Saturday. I have been very fortunate in that I have not
taken any oxycodone at all, just Tylenol every 6 hours.
I am also taking meloxicam once a day, and Bayer aspirin twice a day.
This afternoon I started to walk with only one crutch.
I walked this morning what I would estimate 1/4 mile with no pain.
I probably could have gone further, but Im being very cautious.
Tomorrow morning I shall go a bit further
thank you
George

George
Congratulations on your new hip resurfacing.
Don't push yourself too hard during your early recover.  You will have all summer to put your new hip to the test.
Thanks for your update.
I wish you the best.
