Hi all, just passed the 7 year date of my
ceramic/ Poly THR .
What a life changer it's been, I've gone from being in near permanant arthritic pain at 50 to a completely pain free life.
Happy days.
I went back to see Mr Treacy in May as I had some twinges down the outside of my thigh that concerned me.
He took an x ray and showed me that the bone around the stem had thickened up quite considerably and said whatever exercise i was doing, don't change a thing!
All the walking football etc has helped strengthen the joint and after having me walk up and down past his office with my trousers rolled up, told me I was walking with flat feet and recommended arch supports.
After a couple of weeks with them in my shoes the twinges have gone.
Mr T knows his stuff!
That's good news.
Glad Mr Treacy sorted you out.
All the best.
Yey! Great to hear you are doing so well Mike!!! :D
I've had a lot of back problems since my revision in 2015 but I still can't complain. I still believe I'm in a better position than I was pre op.
Hope to see you reporting back in another 7 years :)
Mike
Congratulations on your 7 year anniversary. Thanks for updating us and letting people know that a THR also works well when you can't have or don't want a hip resurfacing.
I appreciate you taking time to tell people how well you are doing.
I wish you the best and look forward to more anniversaries.
Pat
