I recently completed my one year check up with Dr. Gross who resurfaced my diseased OA right hip installing a 56mm Biomet U/C prosthesis. After reviewing several new X-rays and testing my Range of Motion and strength, Dr. Gross said my ROM and strength were equal or better than the non-operated leg and concluded with “everything looks perfectâ€. Since the procedure on 03/20/20 (last day of surgery before shutting down due to CV19) my recovery advanced very rapidly and I am totally pain free doing all the active activities I thought once impossible. Except for a rapidly fading 3.5 inch scar, I have no residual issues or limitations. Dr. Gross is an amazing surgeon who has an exceptional, very efficient support team. My only regret is not seeing him sooner.
Many thanks to previous posters who helped educate me and facilitated a smoother less anxious experience. Your guidance has been invaluable!!
Way to spring into Spring, Smokey! Congratulations! Were you able to pick up any new or old activities after your 6 month and 1 year milestones?
Fantastic! I felt the same way, in regards to wishing I pulled the trigger a year earlier.
I'm at 9+ years on the first hip, almost 5 months on hip #2. Can't wait to hit that six month mark so I can get back at it.
Congratulations smokey on your one year anniversary! Look forward to reading more updates in the years to come.
imagetinold - Congratulations on your 9 years and almost 5 month anniversary. You will be up and running normally soon. I wish you the very best in your recovery.
