It's been a great 10 years!
Thank you Pat, for all the important information that you make available on this site. Thank you to Dr Scott Marwin, who I found on this site. He performed the bilateral surgery for me back when same day bilaterals were a rarity. And thank you to all the physical therapists at NYU Langone Rusk rehab center for getting me ready for the rest of my life. I stayed in the hospital for 9 days and had PT three times a day. They taught me all the things I'd need like how to get into the shower or get into the car. On the 9th day I walked from my room out the front door and into the car for my wife to drive me home.
I started running again at 6 months and I did my first sprint triathlon in Hawaii at right around the one year mark.
I'm still running 3 days on 1 day off and, although I've slowed a lot, I'm hoping to be racing again once everything clears up.
HR made it all possible. Once again, thanks Pat for everything you've done.
Brilliant that you are still running and imagine having a bilateral! Please keep us informed as to your progress. I am only 2 years' post op on 1 hip and doing totally, unbelievably great! Congrats on 10 years and may you have many more!
