This very subjective advice only applies to serious runners post operation. Forget the expensive and sometimes dubious advice from quack practicioners/non running psuedo experts, looking for a quick buck! Do what you know is right for one's recovery. I will keep it simple. Start off very slowly as if walking, gradually increase speed and distance from 500 metres up to eventually 1 mile. Maintain this weekly and ever so gradually (your hip will keep you informed) and hopefully, hey presto, you will be back to normal, natural running. Not rocket science, no nonsense regarding muscle group exercises etc! Just start back running albeit very slowly and gently does it! Regards to you all from Bonnie Scotland!
Good advice. Dr. Gross here in South Carolina in fact does not recommend physical therapy. He assigns a few do-at-home exercises, and then says to just walk.
