Title: Who is the Perfect Hip Resurfacing Candidate
Post by: Pat Walter on November 06, 2008, 09:01:23 AM
I wrote an article about Who is the Perfect Hip Resurfacing Candidate.  This information was based on the opinions I heard from the exprienced hip resurfacing surgeons at the 2nd Annual Hip Resurfacing Course in LA in Oct. 2008.

The surgeons on the whole are very conservative.  Listening to them just emphasized the importance of seeking an experienced surgeon if you have your heart set on a resurfacing. Many people who are over 55 may have a more difficult time finding a surgeon willing to give them a resurfacing.  The article and recent study indicates that larger older women have the same outcomes as men. It is the smaller men and women that are having difficulties which means the hip resurfacing surgeons are less likely to perform resurfacing for them. Also the folks older than 55 years old.
