Yak Tracks, something you might need for this winter

My Woodstock house was right above the snow and ice line this weekend.  My wife got me these and without them I wouldn't have been able to get in or out of the house.  They worked great for me and they just might come in handy for you this winter if you live in snow country.  You don't want to go through all this and fall in the snow and have to start over.

Tire cables for your shoes...sounds like a great idea!

Won't need them here in San Diego though... 8)

I loaded up on spenco insoles and the sandals. They worked great for me. I just got some Hi Tec hiking boots for walking / plowing through the snow. Wicked comfortable.

I think one thing that really helps is having good footwear for walking.

I was at Costco yesterday, my daily walk, and they have a version.  Not sure on the price

Hi Tecs? I paid about 70 for a pair (extra wide for me).

I'll vouch for the Yaks, they are great.  You can run on a frozen lake (literally) with them...and they don't feel too weird when you have to walk/run on dry pavement.

Yea Dave, my wife Michelle and Kerry M have been running with them in Bethpage State Park in the snow for a couple years with no falls or broken bones.

Is that Kerry Mas--t you speak of? If so, tell her I said hello, she's a wonderful woman.

Yes, Kerry's the best.  She was one of Long Island's original Ironpeople, having taken 1st in her age group at the Great Floridian before most people ever heard of long distance triathlon.
