Kitesurfing-jumping-rotations
« on: October 07, 2012, 02:47:46 AM »
Hi folks, only got a surgery four days ago with Dr de Smet in Belgium(conserve + , great surgeon).......but start dreaming about restarting to Kitesurf. The reason for my HR actually was a kite accident where in a big wave in Mauritius my right leg got stuck in a foot strap on my wave board and then the wave rotated the board over my leg.....
I found  a post on kitesurfing but nothing on wake style. I could eventually live without it but want to know if there is anybody who tried (even after a long period) to jump, do rotations, unhooked, kite loops, etc.....
Or is this considered to high impact. When I jumped combinations such as front loop/kite loop and miss my timing the impact on the water is massive (board normally lands flat with full shock on the hip/body). Is such kind of maneuver possible or am I dreaming too much .....

My suggestion would be to send a personal message to "hawaiieric". He has not posted on the site in a long time, so he may not see your post. He lives on Kauai in Hawaii, and was kitesurfing a lot after his surgery.

I have never kite surfed but I think dreaming is a good idea - not sure what the baby steps are in kitesurfing - a half turn?  Have fun
