Squeak!
« on: March 29, 2013, 06:56:18 AM »
Boy, was my right side squeaking yesterday afternoon.  The first time I hardly noticed it.  The next one, I thought it was my stairs.  Then a bunch more squeaks and I knew what it was.  I must have been dehydrated so I drank lots of water last night and so far this morning it's all quiet in my hips.

Thanks to this sight, I knew what was happening.  If not I probably would have thought I was rusting out!

It hasn't happened to me yet, but just like you, with thanks to this site, at least we are aware it can happen, and what the cause is, and how we can rectify it with lovely H2O.

Stay away from the rustoleum...  ::)   H20 is our friend. I guess none of us can count on being stealthy at all times.

My squeaking story sounded just like yours!  If I had not read about it here I would have freaked out.   I have not had it happen again.  When I tell people about it, they crack up laughing.  At least my hubby was a witness.  I contributed my squeaking to a bad cold and taking guaifenesin.  Once I quit the med and pushed the water, no more squeaking.

Woody, out of curiousity were you out in cold temps for some period of time before the squeaking started?  Mine and others reporting squeaking seemed to perhaps have a tempurature component.

Just wondering.

Yes, Dan, I was working outside most of the day.  I never thought about the cold having anything to do with it. Now that it's finally warmed up, hopefully I won't have to worry about it.  It's really funny though like, ''What's that noise?  Oh, yeah, it's my hip!''

Woody;

It is really funny for sure.

I wonder what the cold variable is?  Microscopic shrinkage of the bearing surfaces (of the non George Costanzo type), thickening of the synovial fluid perhaps?

I've got a bunch of spring work to do once the snow is all gone in WNY, and I wonder if I'll get it again.

Thanks Woody
