Pat is Slow in Answering Posts

I fell backwards off my step Thrusday night and broke the 5th metatarsal bone in my left foot!!!    :'(     OHHHHH  Did that hurt!   Worse than hip surgery!!!!

I didn't realize where I was on the step when I stepped back and my foot curled under me and I heard CRACK!

Needless to say, I am having a very hard time getting around and not on my computer as much right now.

Glad I have a pair of crutches and had some old Vicoden in the medicine cabinet.

So I can again say - I feel your PAIN when people are writing after sugery - because I do!!!!

My BHR is fine.  I fell on that BHR side, but it didn't hurt it at all, my foot and right knee took all the weight.

I will be around, but not quite as often.

Be patient if you don't get an answer from someone, I will try and find you some info for your questions.

Back on crutches - Pat

You are welcome Bill.

I had many people from the Yahoo Surface Hippy Discussion Group help me before I had my hip resurfacing.  I hads tons of emails encouraging me and telling me great places to go in Belgium.  It was nice to know many had gone before me and were doing so well.

If each of us write our stories it will help others.  Your posts, questions and support will encourage more people to consider hip resurfacing.

I wish you the very best!

Hi Holly

Thank You for your good wishes along with all the others.

I had my foot x-rayed today and the bone has not healed.  I was in an air cast boot, but it hasn't held my foot from moving and my bone is still separated.  So the doctor put a knee high cast on me today :-\

I have 6 more weeks in the cast.  I have been sitting in my recliner chair about 90% of the time so far and it looks like much of the summer will be the same.  It gives me lots of time to work on my laptop!  I hope my BHR stays in good shape with all this sitting and walking strangely in a cast.

Thank You for everyone's good thoughts.

Pat

Sorry to hear that, Pat. I admire your good attitude in spite of it all! I will keep you in my prayers for successful healing. I am 4 weeks out tomorrow and am still using a cane, and have quite a bit of knee and groin pain. This web site helps a lot because I can get easily discouraged and very impatient! It's nice to know that otheres have gone through similar experiences..best of luck to you!
