Hi Lisa
I only had 16 dogs running around and I was 61! The dogs love to lay down at nap time! Sorry, I forget not everyone is older like I am.
Hopefully, the sleeping pills will help. Again, almost everyone has the same sleep problems.
I use to forget my crutch too. I just used my elbow crutch since it gave me a little more stability than a cane. I would especially forget at night when I went to the bathroom. I would wake up in the morning and find I left it in the bathroom. Many people tend to do that as they start to get better.
Dr. De Smet said I should always use a cane or crutch until I did not limp. That was the guidline I used. It took me 4 weeks to not limp. Some people take much longer, some less time. We all have our own body healing timeline.
Itching is a good thing - it means healing.
However, I am still more than 2 years post op and still have some itching in my butt area. I have very sensitive skin. I itched for months and months!! Try getting some vitamin E oil and rub on your incision. I waited a few weeks before I started that. You might want to ask your doctor when you can start to use it.
Just think of the itching as your bodies way of shouting - I am getting well I am getting well I am getting well!!!!
May the gods look down upon you and allow you to sleep more and itch less!!!!
Have fun over the 4th!
Pat
