Dr. Paul Shim
« on: September 10, 2015, 09:21:38 AM »
Hi guys, it's been a few years since I've been on here.  Well, since my surgeon decided less than a month before surgery, to cancel it back in 2010 & the hospital dropping the ball royally on following up with booking an MRI.  Oh well...

I'm in the process of finding a new GP & one of their specialists, is orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Paul Shim, MD, FRCSC.  I think he works out of the Brockville & Kemptville hospitals.  Does anyone have any information or experiences with him? (I was on RateMD & there was a lot of info but I'd still like to hear other people's info)

Thanks

As others here state regularly experience is everything with HR. Key is to ask how many HR he has performed and how frequently he is doing them. I see that Kemptville Hospital has expanded its orthopedic surgery in partnership with Ottawa Hospital. In Ottawa General there are two very experienced HR surgeons (Paul Kim and Paul Beaule) who have both done more than a thousand HR ops and are doing them frequently.

(Are all orthopedic surgeons in Eastern Ontario called Paul?  :) )

Thanks.

I was just wondering if anyone had heard of him (I hadn't).

Dr. Beaulé is my hip surgeon (he did my arthroscopy back in Nov. '07 & I was schedule for a resurfacing in Jan. '11 but he cancelled it just a few weeks prior.  He found the hip in the x-ray looked too good.)

I had to laugh too about the "Paul" coincidence.  Lol!
