Has anyone had this condition and have hip resurfacing on it? I have some questions. My hip is externally rotated due to this. My foot points completely side ways and I can actually turn it around so much that it is backwards. Thats how rotated I am on both hips. At the time when I was a child he couldn't correct it without breaking my hip which would completely stunt the growth at 11 yrs old. He told me it would have to be corrected at later date and it was just pinned in place and when I was older (18) the pin was removed. I guess my question is because they don't actually break the bone like in hip replacement, can the rotation of my hip be fixed? I know the other one will eventually need it and it is rotated also but not as bad. I have had alot of falls because of this. I have no balance at all. Your feet balance you but not when the are stuck sideways. The rotation has caused alot of issues with my back. Because I have walked like this for years my disc in my back have almost deteriorated there is no fluid left in them at all and the bottom three levels have all herniated and bulged out causing nerve issues. I had to have them operated on. The rotation has also cause my cartilage and space between my hip in the lateral aspect to deteriorate. Its not like that all of the way around just on the whole outside area. That is causing me a great deal of pain though because there is also osteopytes from surgery. If nobody has had this I can ask my dr on Wed. We are gong to schedule it then.
