Jarhead’s Hip Resurfacing with Dr. Hodrick 2010

I had my resurfacing done in Nashville on 4/26/10 and am so far very pleased. I have been doing computer work on my recliner, updating some older neglected web pages. I today received approval from my doctor to work part time from home starting next week. I will work 2 days a week from home. I have found no problems sitting at the computer desk while not breaking protocols/restrictions. The main thing is remembering to get up every hour for some walking/stretching to keep blood flowing and stiffness from occurring.
I am experiencing the night sweats. In the evening my head feels very flushed and I have gone through up to 6 shirts, two beds, 5 pillows in one night. I tried adjusting the thermostat down but all this did was cause me toshiver more. and made my wife uncomfortable. I am hoping since they took me off the coumadin today that I will be over it soon. Of course, it could be the Percocet(tylenol/oxycodeone).

Normally, I believe my Surgeon – Dr Jeffrey Hodrick in Nashville puts his patients on WBAT – Weight Bearing as Tolerated after 2 weeks. This would give me the opportunity to do some walking.
My discharge orders called for 50% weight on R leg after resurfacing for 4 weeks. This means using the walker for 4 weeks and I am a 47 year old, former Marine. I am coming on on 14 days post op and I feel like I can walk a mile.
I understand and am following to the letter the 90Degree angle, no Internal Rotation, no crossing mid-line, no straight leg lifts but I don’t understand the 50%.
