Liz Rae’s PolyMotion Hip Resurfacing 2024
I have a PolyMmtion right hip and it is about 6 months old. I am so far very pleased in that I am basically back to normal and very active again – I am able to start running in July which was my main motivation for resurfacing. I know the device is newer but all devices are new at some stage.
I feel relieved I don’t have to worry about the risk of metalosis.
I found recovery very straight forward – I was warned the recovery trajectory for females can be slower and more bumpy than for men and and to not compare myself with men but mine was very smooth and easy. I had no pain from about 6 weeks post op and range of motion is better than pre surgery and getting better every day ( but I don’t specifically work at it ). I do not go heavy on the PT which I only do about three times a week.
I would say my main recovery “ Issue” was that my hip would get grumpy when I over did activity. This was fixed by dialing it all back. What I call Grumpy is a feeling of stiffness and weakness rather than an ache or pain. I’m still building strength and the grumpy days are few and far between now. I am a very active person and so far the Polymotion is keeping up with me.
