I had my hip resurfaced in June 2016 by Dr. Schemitsch at age 46 and had an excellent experience.   (BHR – left hip only). Very professional and knows his stuff.  

Just wanted to share in case any other Canadians may come across this site.  My surgery was all covered by our Ontario health plan, and physical therapy as well.  We are fortunate enough to have these type of surgeries covered here.

Hip resurfacing gave me my life back as I went 9 years in pain after a Labral tear in left hip from a hockey injury. and was misdiagnosed.   Sent from Dr. to Dr. until I found Dr. Schemitsch who recognized my issue right away. By time I saw him, I had no cartilage left to repair.  I’m 51 years old now and walking very long distances without any pain and no more restless nights trying to sleep!
