Best wishes on your rehab on the first hip.  I am amazed at all of you that have a second one done.  Especially those of you that have them done at the same time or before the first one has a chance to substantially heal.

My first hip is doing well.0 arthritis pain, and the muscle stiffness is going away(slowly). The awesome part of this surgery is that even though for some the recovery is not quite as fast, you STILL are recovering!Sunday I realized that I can lift my leg to walk straight up the stairs.A small hurdle, not for me.I hav'nt been able to do this for at least 3 years!I was one of those who doubted that I would ever be normal again, now I know I will be.Perhaps even better with my bionic hips :D

Jealous, my un-operated hip is slowing down the recovery of my operated hip.  Can't wait to ride a bike again.

Hi Tim, I had my RBHR exactly four weeks after my LBHR.  I recovered pretty quickly from the first one, and was even leaving my cane behind most of the time by the time my second one rolled around.  I knew that (obviously) I still wasn't 100%, though, and was a little worried about having to use my first operated leg for main support after the second surgery, thinking it might slow the recovery down or overwork it or something.

It turns out that I was put on "toe touch" only and crutches for four weeks after the second operation and really had to depend on my left leg for support.  I'm convinced, though, that having to use it a lot actually helped it heal faster.

Good luck on your second surgery.  You'll do fine.
