How did you know when to finally have surgery?

 :) Marty Bell here. Just had first hip cut on Mar 9th. by Dr. Gross. I will probably have other one done in a year.It shows no cartilidge due to Osteo Arthritis like the first one.(but dosent hurt yet) I have been having pain and walking/limping issues for probably 10 years. First it was only back spasms I am sure, then whatever I decided it was . Of course I was just fooling myself the whole time. After much money on Chiropractors and Physical Therapy and personal trainer and exercise and finally a mis diagnosis by a OrthoPod, who couldnt read the x-rays right, well it all came to sleepless nights, and severe pain in the knee. And all of this discomfort(couldnt even lift my leg over onto a motorclcle), and tiredness, and cant walk anywhere, and mad and angry because of the discomfort and the limping and groaning into and out of cars and people asking if I was ok well it just became to much. I am a pilot and passengers asked me if I was o.k. Crew members asked me. I couldnt keep up. I never went out on overnights. You hit all the food groups of how Osteo Arthritis slowly causes you to have a lousy life!  Pilot from United mentions to another friend of mine about his hip resurfacing. My friend insists I see Dr. Gross, or someone that does this surgery. I saw 3 regular Traditional Hip Replacement doctors. They all insisted I was not a candidate for Hip Resurfacing. Of course, they dont do it!
I contacted Dr. Gross, I had xrays done, sent to him, and scheduled surgery!. I am doing great. The United piolt had his done 14 months ago and he is doing great. no looking back.
