Disturbing Dream

As I was waking up from a nap in my recliner this afternoon, I thought I was waking up in the recovery room at the hospital where I had my hips done.  This was very realistic and it took me a few seconds to realize where I was.   :o

Strange...maybe it was the taco stand food I had for lunch today.   :-\

I have a recurring dream where I wake up and I am not young and indestructible any more. And then I come to my senses.

Im 46...and still have weird...real seeming...dreams on a regular basis.

I was recently standing in my bathroom in my work uniform, brushing my teeth. Then one of my kids starts banging on the door shouting "come on, we need to go" over and over. I look up into the mirror and my clothes have transformed into military fatigues....the voice shouting has got deeper and there is a kit bag on the floor next to me. I open the door to see two helicopters waiting with their rotors turning. I grab my bag, run towards the helicopter and......wake up. Took me a few minutes to work out where I was.....I was depressed for days after realising it was a dream and I was still in the same boring job.  >:(

yeah I know....a psychiatrist would have a field day with me   ;D ;D ;D

I do not normally remember my dreams but following the surgery I can remember one or two every few nights.  I am 2 weeks since I got off pain meds and 4 weeks post op â€" so I do not think it is left over meds

Recent dream involved a place I worked at in the early 1990's that was now in a different location (a city we lived in 2005'ish) - and I was talking the Professor that recruited me in to grad school in the mid 1980"s â€" it was very vivid, conversations, images but all mixed up etc.

I recently had a very realistic dream that I was meeting with Dr Gross for a checkup.  I asked him if he was getting tired of doing the same surgeries over and over.  He told me that he was working on a brand of hot sauces on the side and that was his true passion.

LOL, that's actually pretty believeable.  I have a friend who makes bbq sauce on the side and sells it over the interwebs.

With my PTSD I don't really dream,  but when I do, I have my M4, NVG's, sand in my underware and full mags of 5.56 orange tip tracers.
