You guys are the best!  The support is wonderful!  I will try the shower trick tomorrow.  This evening, some friends came and took me out to dinner.  I've had a couple of glasses of wine - I'm hoping that will do the trick tonight.  I slept fairly well last night trying the trick suggested by Newdog, so things are improving.  I do stay out of the bed during the day, and actually walked a mile today and yesterday with the support of my hot pink cane (two 1/2 mile walks) - not too bad 15 days after surgery, if I say so myself!
