Less than 24 hours post op, looking out at east river from hss in ny, Dr.Su.
It has been a long process to this point. But glad I'm here  :D. waiting to here full report, size, angle, etc. Walked three steps yesterday after surgery, little woozy but ok. Getting more pt today and all the hookups pulled out  :). I haven't posted that much at all, but was checking posts from everyone two to three times a day for months and months.  Thank you Pat this is a great site, info, reassurance place to be.
I will take it day by day recovering, I have goals that I will post at another time...

Thank you everyone one here for the support  :)

Congratulations, PK.  Nice digs ya got there, too!  I have a fabulous view of Lake Erie here at Euclid Hospital, and Mlle. Lake has been all p*ssed off the last week, all churney and angry and cold and blowey.  We're going home today, four days out.  Looking forward to seeing if the tulips and dogwood have bloomed.

Here's looking at you!  May your recovery run straight and smooth!

Cheerio,

PK, welcome to the club :)  I am happy to hear that you have made your first steps after surgery so soon.  Each one from here will be that little bit easier as you progress to being fully healed and fabulous :)

Look forward to hearing about your goals and your progress in working towards these!

PK - Welcome.

If you live in NY you have some great places to walk for your recovery.  The great thing about recovery is the walking is slow...... so you get to enjoy the outdoors more.  Take your time and do not rush - plenty of time

Cheers - Phill

Congratulations PK.  Glad to hear everything went well.  Take it easy for a few weeks and you will have a great summer.

Let me add my congratulations for taking the next step in the rest of your life.

It is so nice to have all these inspiring people.  Makes the thought of my upcoming surgery more palatable.  "If you can do it, so can I"

Keep us updated on your progress.

Ok it's now  day3.  Surgery on Saturday home on Monday. Feeling what all the post ops are feeling, SORE...  But amazing thing no pain in the hip joint itself,  loving it! Really hard trying to get comfortable last night sleeping not a very good night but we'll see what tonight brings. In home pt coming this afternoon. Much needed rest after going through really rough hip pain this past year. And no such regrets at all. Things are looking up...

Congratulations PK, and welcome to the club!!

You'll be amazed at how fast you progress.  And then, you may get frustrated at how long it's taking.  And then, you'll be amazed again at your recovery.

Just keep in mind, like hipnhop said, it only gets better.
