I can't wait for the restriction on 90 degree or leg crossing to be lifted at six weeks.  I don't have a follow up with the doctor until week 8.  But I had him confirm that the restrictions would be removed at six weeks.

I am already taking short walks across rooms without aid.  I definitely limp though so I don't want to practice bad form.

Thanks for the update and the great report.

I agree, patience is huge.  You sort of get used to the 90 degree restriction, but it is nice to not have to worry about it.  I liked the PT work, it was fun to get more exercise and work harder.  I felt like I was beginning a new life, pretty cool.

It varies by surgeon. I had a 90 degree restriction until my first appt at 4 weeks and then it was lifted.

Dr. Lannin assured me that he has never had any patients experience any dislocations post op, he just advised me to be cautious.  Believe me, I had no desire to take any unnecessary risks.  Abiding by his precautions has been no problem whatsoever and has not caused any issues with my physical therapy.  Just give the muscles time to heal and strengthen to insure that everything stays where it is supposed be!
