Hi Boomer,
Just last night I was thinking about posting about how well my resurfaced hip is doing, but then I thought that most people have already heard my story enough times, so I wouldn't bother them with it again. Then your post reminded me that there are always new people on the forum, that have not heard the good stories. So with apologies to all of those that have heard all this before, here is my recent update.
I am a little over three years out at this point. My average summer day involves: a sunrise session of either surfing or tennis, then off to teach high intensity windsurfing for 3 to 5 hours, then an evening session of either tennis, or this time of year a visit to the gym to get ready for ski season. In the winter, I teach high level skiing for 8 hours a day, seven days a week, followed by an evening walk to loosen up. My resurfaced hip seems to thrive on this activity schedule. I do get some minor aches or twinges, but no more than the rest of my 60 year old body. A couple of times a year, I do get a minor bursitis flare up when I change sports with the seasons, but it is fine 98% of the time. Overall, I am a very happy hippie that believes in resurfacing. Maybe worth noting that even with this activity level, my Chromium ion levels were around 1.4.
So Boomer, I hope that this story puts a positive slant on you looking forward to your adventure with resurfacing. I am certainly glad that I did it.
