I am sure your Dr is the best source of information specific to your operation.
I must say that while healing I was greatly encouraged by reading American Sniper. In the book the author described a Seal requiring a hip replacement after a training injury.
I think he said the Seal was back to full duty after 15 months! Considering what that requires, he must have had the absolute best medical care throughout his ordeal.
It was great to learn that a true hero was able to recover so completely and gave me reassurance that I could get back to my "normal" soon.

Amazon indicates that book is an autobiography. I'm amazed the military allowed a Seal back to that kind of training with a hip replacement. Does speak to the capacity of modern THRs (and BHRs) if true.

I believe he received a BHR. Don't see why he couldn't return to active service if he's up yo the job. A mate of a mate is a royal marine commando officer. He lost a leg in afghan. He wanted to remain on active service. The marines were not keen on this so he struck a deal with them. If he could complete the commando course again which involves the following. The endurance course which is a 2 mile cross country run with a 5 mile run back to camp and a shooting test within 70mins carrying 32lbs. The Tarzan assault course a hellish high ropes agility and obstical course. This has to be done in 12 mins with 32lbs. The 9 mile speed march in 90mins with 32lbs. And the 30 miler in 7hours with atleast 32lbs normally around 45-50 tho. He completed all his previous times and so they didn't have a leg to stand on so to speak.
