I made it thru my first week back to work. My right cheek was sore the first day but it got a little better thru the week. I was able to walk a little in the office unnassisted just as an unofficial physical therapy on my part. I'll keep the cane as long as needed. No sense rushing it. Have a good weekend.

Great job Hoyt, I am looking at returning to work on Otober 22. I did quite a bit of walking yesterday and my lower back is screaming at me today, I am hoping my muscles start to all get ack on board.

You have a good weekend to, Hoyt.  Congratulations on your first week back to work.  It just keeps getting better.

Cheeky.  Maybe a pillow? more walking or getting on your feet throughout the day, maybe get one of those fancy sit/stand stations where your head sticks out over the cube wall and you stare down at your neighbors head? ... Sounds like some good progress.

Imgetin - totally agree, there will be that day you forget that you have a prosthetic hip (or two).

Good suggestion, Tin Soldier. I'm probably going back to work next week, and as I am in sales and on the road much of the week, driving is an important part of my activity. I tried out my first long drive last week, 200 miles (for reasons of love!) and it was made acceptable by the use of a folded up pillow on my car seat.  Bliss! My scar site was not a problem, however, I have to say that the hip was biting back at me by the end of the drive, despite the fact that 98% of it was on motorway so very little gear changing (in the UK we still have those strange things called gear levers).

Last week was my first week back. I only did Tues - Thursday in the office, but man it was hellish on the muscles. I worked from home on Friday and it took concentrated effort to not flop on the bed and snooze during teleconferences.

I'm back to work again this week and 2 days in I feel so much stronger in my walking. I actually forgot my crutches at home on Monday since I can waddle along without them with minimal effort for decent distances.

I can't wait till I have everything back to normal. Saturday I start out-patient PT, I can't wait to see all the advanced results from the therapy. I'm still on the mindset that I will be playing hockey by February next year.

Nice one Mr Box. Keep waddling along and im sure you will be playing hockey at some point next year!!  :)

Mr Box - you are doing what I did - worked half time - took some naps and worked hard to stay engaged during teleconferences.  It does get better and keep listening to your body - if you need a rest - there is a reason (it could be just a boring teleconference  :-\ )

I find even now sitting too long is the worst thing. I have to find a balance which in my trade is pretty easy. Between sitting standing and walking.
