Has anyone heard of this type of surgery?

Sal - I take it that the surgeon you saw was Mr Porter in Edinburgh. He was my first consultation before getting a second opinion. He does not do resurfacing at all now. At the age of 38 he offered me a standard metal on plastic, would not even consider a ceramic. I think you have definately made the right choice seeing Treacy.

Thanks Morph, it was Martyn Porter in but I think his response will be the same because he is the editor of the NJR. He's one of the best revision surgeons which is why I was recommended to see him to check out why I have pain in my resurfaced hip. Once I have those results I ll head to Mr Treacy but he doesn't offer the ceramic on metal that Mr McMinn offers..... And Mr McMinn didn't want to see me because of not seeing OA on the X-ray   :(.

Our lack of OA is definately a hindrence in a way as we're still in complete agony, yet there's no cure for it :( Mr Treacy is definately the way to go though. Even though he's no longer my consultant, I thank my lucky stars for his opinion and help.
