Ruby, great news, just caught up!
Take loose clothing, when you get home you will be able to have a carer in morning and evening in Essex, they will help with showering etc, Teds,preparing Food (get micro meals in)
Get a grabber from Amazon, very useful! As you have no restrictions you`ll find it easier :)
Don`t be scared I hadn`t had major surgery before either!

Danny has been down yes, but we`ve been texting a lot every day

I did have to buty single bed to have downstairs, was too dangerous and hard to keep going upstairs, but I was bilat! ;)

Ruby good luck for your up coming op. The no restrictions with Mr T means no 90 degree rule. Obviously he doesnt like you starting high impact stuff for 12 months.

Hi Ruby - I'm due to have my surgery on Thursday 9th August too.  Can empathise, never had any surgery before and this is all a bit surreal.  Trying to take on board all the advice on the site, make lists organise home, work, world.

What does it feel like Danny? Having a 'fake' joint so to speak? Does it feel like it does before the arthritis sets in?

It felt weird for me at the start as your body doesn't know exactly where the new joint/bearing surface is(proprioception) it feels pretty normal to me most of the time now.
I got some bone regrowth pain early on but that was reassuring to me.

I'm still pretty fed up right now. I really do believe that I'll now never be able to reach any of my career or personal asperations thanks to this.;( xx

Hugs to you :( You're not even a year out of surgery. You've got loads of time to improve and strengthen. I feel the same though.... i'm 31 and I wonder what sort of life am I going to have with false joints at such a young age. I wanted to take up running and cycling seriously and I wonder if that's even going to be possible.x

I'm not far off a year post op now it's like 38+ weeks. And I just know my body and I now know where I am in recovery and I know that my body doesn't have the improvement left in it that will be required to return to "normal".
I'd say you'll deffo be able to cycle again. I find that easy enough not sure about the running yet as I've not done it.
