Thanks for all the advice and support, guys - i'm glad i found this place.  I am off to see my scope surgeon this week but fully expect to be fobbed off by him.  In any case, i will ask for some new xrays to be done and i can then use these to canvass opinion from a few HR surgeons via email.  If the general consensus is that i am suitable, then a trip to Mr Treacy will be in order.

Thanks again,
Davo

Sounds like a good plan.

The current x-rays may prove that the femoral neck isn't as thin as it was after the cam osteophyte/s were removed.  That's only been a few months, but you might lay down bone pretty fast and you may have more cam growth coming back.  On a similar note to John's post, a lot of material is removed from the head of the femor and down into the neck area to recieve the femoral "cap".  You might have enough material to work with.

Definitely make copies of your images and get them to a few of the experienced HR surgeons.

This is definately the place to come for support and help. I very much doubt that I would have recieved my resurfacing had it not been for this forum. Do keep us up to date of what goes on for you x
