Hopefully that will help. Keep us informed to what they say/advise and how you get on, it sure sounds like a muscular thing. I would guess that the majority of issues like this probably are but always best to make sure.

Hippy,

I still get the occasional groin pain that is like it felt before (8 months out).  It is always when I am isolating that hip....like when I put on pants and balance on the operated leg for a longer-than-normal time frame.  It is totally a muscle thing, and my small stabilizers are not back to normal yet.  The difference is, the old groin pain would linger and never go away, and the "groin pain" I get now is gone as soon as the muscle recovers (2 seconds?).

I also recently overdid the exercise level a couple weeks ago (biking, hiking, then 1.5 hours of tennis), and my hip was sore for about 4 days.  Again, it was muscles being pushed further than they have been before.  I believe it specificity, and if I do anything on my hip that I haven't been doing, it's going to be sore the first few times.

Good luck!

Somebody posting something and it's been repeated, which is a good rule of thumb IMO:

Soreness - normal, muscle related.  Lots of treatments (massage, break of scar tissue, dial back workouts, ice, etc).

Excruciating pain - something is seriously wrong.

I think all of us can tell the difference between soreness and excruciating pain.  Good luck in your recovery!
