Hard to believe it's been a year already. All I can say is my new hip is probably the best part of my body, considering the rest is so damn old! Just got back from a 4 mile run and have a 22 mile mountain bike ride scheduled for Friday - my first mountain bike ride since the surgery. Had my best ski season ever, although I am hoping that by calling a premature end to the season we will get some desperately needed late season snow and extend the season.

Really, no complaints at all. Surgery was not fun, recovery was less fun, but being completely pain free and back to all my old activities makes it totally worth it.

Congratulations, Stephen - this is why you put the time and effort in during the recovery.

You'll feel even better for your second.

A year doesn't take as long to go by as it used to!

Have you signed up for the "Badwater Ultra Marathon" yet?  Sort of in your neck of the woods...
Death Valley to Mt. Whitney.  Only 135 miles non-stop.

Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Don't think I'll need a second. While I thought pre-surgery that my left hip was causing problems, it's felt fine for the past year. I was also having some difficulties with my left knee that have gone away as well. I suspect it was imbalances caused by my bad right hip, as I lost 1 1/2" in height in the last few years before surgery. I got all the height back after the surgery, so no more imbalances.

Also, the left hip got the wee scared out of it by seeing what the right hip went through and decided it better get it's act together!
