Has anyone had a resurfacing revision surgery that keeps the femur head and swaps out the metal cup with a poly cup?

I may be wrong, but I don't think they do poly cups that big, do they? The contact surface would be so big, they would wear too much.

It is my understanding that resurfacing cups are actually smaller thereby allowing for a revision surgery that keeps the resurfaced femur head and replaces the metal cup with a highly cross linked poly cup.  I am looking for more information and real people who have had this type of revision.  I need double hip revision surgeries due to my metal levels. It looks like Dr. Pritchett in Seattle and Dr. Gross in South Carolina have experience in this area.

See about 3/4 of the way down - "new polyethylene bearing".

Heres what I had and got side by side. The new cup has 2 screws to help with "initial stabilization" according to the surgery report. Seems like you'd need quite a bit bigger cup or a lot smaller (thinner) liner.  By the way if you can find a guy who revise with an anterior approach I'd seriously consider using him. My revision anteriorly was (well so far) a much easier recovery than my original bhr. But there are more risks as I understand it.
