Hi-
I am 5 months out following BHR on left hip.  Recovery fine and I have worked up to a modest level of  and just stepped up jogging(indoor track) 1.5-2 miles followed by 30 min elliptical.  This along with biking 40-60 miles per week.  Flexibility is also much better than before surgery-even for other hip that will need BHR soon.
I just noticed a tingling/vibrating sensation that lasts for 5 sec. or so and is intermittent for the last 2-3 days now.  I think I noticed it occasionally before but it did not make it to my attention until now because it is more persistent.
Any idea if it is related to the implant or my activity or what??
thanks for any feedback

Does this happen when you are using the hip, or at rest?

My incision would kinda spasm when I was doing exercises right around the 5-7 month post op period.  No one could tell me why it was happening (surgeon or PT).

It did eventually go away.

I did get a pretty credible answer from a Cardiologist friend of mine.  He suggested that the vibrating sensation in the hip is due to the regrowth and reestablishment of nerve connections.  I feel much better, I first thought my cell phone was ringing in my pocket because it was that obvious!
thanks!!

Haha Tim... I went through the same thing! For two or three months I kept reaching into my pocket thinking my phone was ringing... only to find there was no phone. Eventually it went away, and I didn't think about it any longer. Occasionally these days, I will get a flash of warmth in the same area. I assume that is also something to do with nerves.
