I am new to the Surface Hippy Group.  I am 48 and have been "bone on bone" in my left hip for a couple years.  I really did not want a total hip replacement.  That lead me to doing some research and I learned about the hip resurfacing option.  4 weeks ago I had a hip resurfacing surgery on my left hip at Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel.  The staff and facilities were amazing.  So far / so good.  I have a little numbness and some weird sensations in my right thigh on occasion (which is strange because it was the non-operated side), but I am hoping that will rectify over time.  I had partial dysplasia prior to the operation but zero leg length problems afterwards.  So far no regrets.  Currently doing outpatient physical therapy, but still using some pain meds.

X-ray looks good. Just keep resting up and icing. I'm sure you'll have a great result! :)

My guess is that with 2yrs of bone on bone you were out of kilter because you were compensating,  and now your body is rebalancing itself to what it should be. Hence the sensations on the non-op side because you're using it in ways it hasn't seen for quite a while. If I'm right then it should ease up over time.
