Karlos,  Addendum, the local Dr. sees a 1mm space between the bone and the cup all the way around the surface of the cup. He recommends another xray in 6 months. If the space is growing then the outlook is not good. Dr. DeSmet said xrays done in April and August were perfect. I look at the xrays just taken and I do not see a difference. Be good to get Dr DeSmet's interpretation.

If you are interested in comparing your xray series to themselves and say karlos' image, you could post them up.  Obviously we are not hip surgeons, but we could discuss them here as laypersons while we wait for the surgeon's analysis.


Also, if your xrays were taken by a radiology practice, you can get a radiologist's report on your condition which is separate from the orthopedist you are seeing who might have ordered the xrays.  Just another set of eyes/opinion.

 :) Thanks John. I would try and avoid all surgery again and crack on with the nutrition part of life. You have got 6 months....... it will pass quickly. you are young so that in itself may help. Good luck 8)
