Evening,

New to the board and was just looking for a little advice.

I'm nearly 6 weeks post op - seemed to gone well but I am getting slightly concerned by the following,

First 3 weeks was all good - knee and shin pain (reason for hip resurfacing) was gone and I was getting around on 2 crutches and doing physio. However since then and going to physio I have pain in my knee - Left leg. I got bruising on the right side of my left knee initially, then the pain moved to the outer of my left knee and now seems to have centred round my knee cap. It mainly affects me walking downstairs and for the last few nights if I sleep on my unoperated side even for 10 mins or so. Pain can be quite bad doing this. Other than that it doesn't really bother me.

I still do my exercises religiously and have stared doing gentle cycling at gym (low resistance) but I'm getting slightly paranoid that I still have the same pain I had pre op or is this fairly typical and just my gait/leg
Length just settling down?

Sorry to ramble but any advice or personal experiences would be grateful.

Thanks,

PTB

Aches, pains and bruising are normal and can happen anywhere for quite some time. Knee pain happens because your hip needs more work on range of motion.
It all takes time to resolve. It's ok to take it easy this early on.
