First of all I want to tell Miss Patty the queen of hips thanks, it was this very site where I found out about hip resurfacing.

I did not want to forget my anniversary which is August of 2008.  My hip is going strong, although my left hip is beginning to twinge here and there.  Every year I believe more and more that I will take my hip to the grave.  Dr. Gross has an astounding record of patients who still retain their HR.  Dr. Gross includes in his numbers a lot of smaller women and problem cases.

Believe Miss Patty when she says to find a doctor with lots of experience, Pat traveled farther than I did and people thought that I was crazy going from Pittsburgh to SC.

I am pleased to see so many surface hippys I remember from back 15 years ago.  I hope to see all of you in another 15 years.

Greetings Chuck,

I remember chatting with you on this forum 15 years ago as that's when I had my LBHR.
I was active on this website for a few years after but faded away until my right hip needed a resurfacing nearly 4 years ago.
Those that were active 15 years ago, e.g. yourself, B.I.L.L., JohnC, SRoberts, City2South, XOCY, Vicky have faded away.
My RBHR is fully rehabbed and I'm out enjoying activities so I suppose my forum activity will fade away again but I will at least post on my anniversary.
I am grateful that Pat has been maintaining this website as I researched some more for my RBHR and I have been following news about hip resurfacings.
One issue that was actively debated 15 years ago was uncemented vs cemented femoral caps.
I am happy that both have longevity as the earliest cemented BHR's have now passed 25 years and the earliest uncemented Biomet's have now passed 15 years with outstanding records by the top surgeons!
Congratulations for your upcoming 15 year anniversary for your right hip resurfacing!

Hi Chuck
Great to see you back for a visit.  Congratulations on your upcoming hip anniversary.  I am hoping all of us "oldies" will take our hip resurfacings to the grave with us!!!  I am 79, so I certainly hope it remains with me a few years longer!
Thanks again for coming back and updating us.  Great for newer members to hear from us "oldies" who still have our hip resurfacing and are living great, active wonderful lives - expect sometimes for non-hip issues!
Thanks again for the update and all the help you gave people through this Discussion Forum for years and years!
Thank You.  I wish you the very best!

Steve,

So nice to see your Dr. Su hips are working as they should for sure.  I still stay in contact with B.I.L.L on facebook, he is funny as ever.  Bill has had a number of repairs done to his hip.  Bill loves to ride motorcycles and he has had a number of bad wrecks.  Bill's xrays look like an erector set LOL.

It’s great to see you guys posting here. I am pretty sure I remember some of your posts back when I was considering and planning to do my first hip with Dr Gross in 2011.

Fast forward I just had my second hip done two weeks ago!  The first one is going strong!

Glad to see so many of us have had such great results !!!
