Clicking, poping, clunking and moving of the ligaments, tendons and components.

It’s interesting to hear people NEVER experience these sensations and for some it passes or never does. I wonder if there’s a correlation with earlier failure?

Would be good to hear everyone’s experiences. Did it ever happen, stop and how long etc?

Hi Ironman,
I’m 10 weeks tomorrow, over last week I’ve noticed clunks less often and when they do happen they’re softer, not so obvious. I had physio with a different guy on Tuesday. Told to back off on physio don’t do everyday. Also not to overdo exercise.(rowing for me and weights)
As with yourself hip flexor/psoas  still predominantly on my mind. I’ve done a bit too much lately so going to back off. Very frustrating with flexor/ psoas pain. Middle of the night it likes to wake me up. This eases after around 20-30 mins to a low grumble. 2x paracetamol helps a lot. Annoying as I was off all pain meds earlier in recovery.
I’m able to sit on floor crossed legged now albeit in stages. Knees are definitely not enjoying themselves at the moment. Still using aids on and off the loo.
Definitely a roller coaster recovery for us.

Hi Ironman,
I’m replying on this your thread…had physio today still trying to get on top of this frustrating psoas tendonitis.
I get the random clunks and one click that I can recall.
Hope all’s going well with you 👍🏻🤞🏻

Thanks for the reply. How does the psoas issues feel?

I can make it clunk with certain movements and I can feel it when bending over or shifting around in kitchen etc….. feels like it’s sort of loose if that makes sense?

Hi, I’m seeing my surgeon next month 2nd follow up. I really want get this psoas issue resolved. Mine is really painful if I sneeze of all things. I have to be mindful of not letting flexors/ psosas do the heavy lifting.. straight or bent leg. I do assist with left hand getting leg up across opposite leg to put socks on etc
Getting a bit fed up with it lately.

Just seen knee surgeon today, now waiting for a partial knee 😳👍🏻
All the best

I'm now 4 weeks out and I have zero audible clunking so I thought that's what everyone was referring to, but I do occasionally get what feels like the hip being slightly out of place then suddenly slipping into place.  No sound, no pain, just a sudden small movement.  If this is the clunk people are referring to then I've got it a little bit, but it seems to becoming less with time.  I can trigger it by standing and turning side to side, or taking weight off of then back onto my operated leg while moving around, such as when stepping over things or working at my workbench with a lot of turning side to side and up and down.  If I'm sitting in a chair and bounce my operated leg it feels like the hip is rattling around loosely.  I emailed my dr. about it and his staff told me this is normal for now so I'm ignoring it.  There is zero of this while walking and I'm walking probably 2-3.5 miles a day with crutches (doctor mandated crutches for 6 weeks).
