I am at two weeks prior to surgery and I am getting very excited. I did my
Pre-op testing yesterday and my cold is getting better and better everyday.
I spoke with the head nurse yesterday and she said that I can nurse my baby
anytime except right after surgery when I am waking up. I need to wait until I
get into my room. Is that not awesome. They are going to give me a big room
too, because my baby might stay the night with me.
So, only have to pack our bags and exercise. Need to get strong for the
surgery.

Quick update, will post more as it comes.

Having a loved one with you helps, so you are definitely going to do well.

Hey Lori (great name by the way  ;D - Just have to say you were here first so twas me that made things confusing!)

We will be sending positive thoughts to you for a smooth surgery and a fast recovery.  Having the comfort of family around post op is great medicine.   It's a positive sign that your hospital is open to this as to me it indicates that they are focused on what's best for the patient which always makes such a difference.  Just make sure you get a chance to rest when you need to!

Look forward to hearing about your progress,
Lori

Tonight I am at 10 days and counting.  I am still looking forward to the surgery.  I know that there was some sort of Hip Resurfacing Conference in AZ, and I am happy to hear that my surgeon attended, a sign that he is always looking for ways to improve.   :)

Lori you are so funny.  True I may have joined this group 1st, but you have kicked my butt on all other angels.  A double header on the hips and you also have more post than me.  :)  Thanks for all the kind wished.  Please know that I am reading your post daily to see your progression.

Nekio(?) only 11 days for you!  How is the nose?  Hope you got rid of the cold, mine is gone.

Well I need to go, baby is calling for mommy.  I only have 10 nights left helping out, so I suppose I should.  Good night hippies.

Is it six days out today?

How are you going?  Packed yet?  Make sure the clothes are loose and comfy.
Also, I think that time out at a day spa is a good idea.  Get a pedicure (if you have hip restrictions those toes will be on there own for a while - just remember no polish as they generally don't like you to have that on in an OR), your hair done and anything else that will make you feel good and relaxed and keeping up with the positive mood that you have going on.  (I know any excuse to recommend a spa day but hey you might not be up to it for a little while so why not!)

Lori36,

It almost here. You will be out of OR in no time. I remember waking up with my Surgeons by my side, the first thing they said was - You Got your Resurfacing and everlasting went well. I know you will hear the same.

Today I am 6 days out!  Got my pre-auth for insurance.  Had my last day of work!
Pre-op testing passed.  I am a go!  May 11th 10 am!  Seems like yesterday when I scheduled this appointment.  Excited is 80% nervous 20%.  Hoping I can keep that ratio. :)

Lori- no packing yet.  I did rent a mini van for the trip.  We are leaving on Monday, so this weekend is time to pack the family.  How are you doing?  I see you are now a JR member!

Good fortune to you and especially your surgeon.

I know it will be no time at all and I will be 6 days out from my surgery, celebrating my birthday.  What a great birthday present for my second half century of life.
