Thigh ache at 13+ weeks

I have noticed in the last 3-4 days a feeling of weekness and general ache in my mid thigh area. Its half way between my hip and my knee on the outside around my IT band. Has anyone else noticed this before at this stage of recovery.

Danny, it sounds like IT band soreness. The best thing I found for it was a foam roller - use it religiously, it really works well.

Exactly what Hernan said. For me it would come up a couple of times a year as I changed the sports of the season.

Yeah I thought it might be something like that. It's weird really the only thing that's stopping me being 100% is the soft tissues. I'm still weak in a lot of the stabiliser muscles I think that's why I'm having this problem. The joint it's self feels 100% natural and my ROM is pretty out standing. I was told that's normally the last thing to return well mines already better than my other side in some planes. It's a little pinchy at the extreme of some stretches but I expect that for quite sometime yet.

Just bought a foam roller from amazon. And just picked up a wabble cushion from tkmax. Hopefully these new tools will help me fight through this kink in the road.

I have it too, periodically, now at almost 17 weeks.  More activity, particularly bending at the knee and hip (squatting) it seems to come up a bit more.  Comes and gos for sure.

Danny-

I definitely had that pain on the outside of the thigh.  I was working regularly and attributed it to soreness and the change in gait.  I also used a roller, although mine is hard and not a foam roller like these other sissies use.   ;)

I have noticed less and less pain.  I am now running and it feels awesome.

Wow what a difference a day makes!! I feel the best I have done for well over a year today! Talk about peaks and troughs!

I think I'll hurt today now though. I slipped getting in the shower this morning. I twisted my leg uncontrollably and it hurt my thigh but atleast the joint felt fine but I think it's hurt some muscles.:-(

Be careful man.  I am real cautious about walking around to house without good slippers. Get those waterproof one you can wear at the pool.
