Did a 50 mile ride in a 19.5 mph pace it was windy so could have been faster...
Then did a 2 mile run off of the bike...first one 8:17...next one 7:58.
Felt really sloggy as I was running, but better as I went along...

Go Dave! Go Dave!

( I rode the lead bicycle at Kerry M's, Grace School 5k today.  I used a mirror and had a great view of this young guy, Matt, crushing the field in 16:03.)

Ready for what Woody?  Did get 60 in today at a 20+ pace...longest to date.  Going to run tomorrow.  You should get your double hippy ass out here (to the east) and join us...

I did have a good run, my best to date 9 miles, hilly 8:16 average.
I don't want to offend by posting my workouts, hope some or anyone is interested...
I am still out of shape or shape I think I can get in...the hip is coming along just fine though...

David,

I don't think you are offending anyone at all! I think it is fantastic how well you are doing! Keep up the hard work and keep posting because it is an inspiration to everyone.

David, no offense at all here.

Very interested not just as a hippy getting back to it, but also in the running / triathlon area, which is far removed from what I do. Pretty cool, keep it up.

I also think longer term, not just for people who are into this, but just anyone who is recuperating at any level, they want to know what can be done, and how you did get back to it in a good fashion.

I definitely appreciate all the posts David! I was once an IM triathlete.....years ago. Not near as accomplished as you and NEVER qualified for Hawaii.  Just great to hear what can be done after this surgery, keep it up!  I'll keep reading! BTW congrats on many years of sub 10 performances! Extremely impressive!

I'm very interested and I really enjoy reading about specific workouts. Everyone who trains for triathlon starts with someone else's workout, and then modifies it to suit them. I enjoy reading exactly what you are doing as it gives me an idea what to expect.

I'm guessing that the transition from bike to run is still a bit stiff to get going?

I'm still way behind you but working hard.  I rode 35 this morning, east on the Service Rd, around Suffolk CC, back on the Motor Parkway and finished up with the Runner's Edge Loop.  I  averaged 16.8, but I hit 29mph on Washington Ave.  I wanted to get 30 but just couldn't get there.  Run later in the woods.
