I have felt really good and being almost 8 weeks post I headed to the woods for some hunting. Little bit of a mistake. Getting back to my stand it looked like a tornado had swept thru. There were a lot of trees knocked down. I should

have turned back but noooooooo. I am so sore now! Not just my hip but my whole body. Climbing up and over tress jumping off and landing on both feet. What an idiot! I don't think I damaged anything but am really sore. It's so hard

to be patient!!

I remember my first nightout lamping after my surgery. I was sore for a while after!

With Hurricane Sandy, my wife was so nervous so I told her that I was good to go with doing everything pre / post storm. Now she doesn't believe me when I say I pushed myself too hard. I gave her a convincing lie about the bone being strong enough and everything at 7 weeks. Even though I felt like I was able to do a lot of work around the house. I feel like someone bent my in half with my back muscles and sore all over.

Now I get " but you said you could " and " I think you are faking it. "

So much for calming down a nervous wife!

I do feel I can get out there and do alot of normal activities. And, with less pain then ever before. Just, I'm not escaping the soreness of my back or pushing my hips too much.

My PT explained that when the hip flexors are weak and they can't handle the stress. The back muscles kick in to help as they are all attached some how. She told me this before I was like.... hey my back is all screwy!~

Really common problem Anna. The OA will effect your body in so many waysmany of which you'll only realise when your fixed! Xx

My back, my shoulders, my overall body was a mess, Anna.

I think our poor bodies are just trying to compensate so hard for the OA that afterwards, once the dust settles and your muscles are not under such stress, you finally see the toll that it was taking on you due to the absence of all these pains.

I did back strengthening exercises all the way up to my surgery and then as soon as I could afterwards as part of my overall rehab program. I haven't had any back issues.

Be really careful you don't overdo things before your bone has hardened, please read my story and take note I learned the hard way.

Hey Guys

Lets let the hunting information alone and get back to hips and recovery.

We all have different opinons and this is not a political discussion group about these kinds of topics.

Wishing someone would shot themsleves in the foot - is not acceptable and not kind.  Please - let's not be wising other people harm.

Make peace, let it go and lets talk hips.

My apologies if I have offended anyone. I thought that we all made the decision to have our hips resurfaced in order to get back to the things we love and are passionate about in life. I was only sharing a story about something that made my hip sore. Another member shared a story as well.  Again my apologies.

Anna

I dont think that was the issue Hoyt. I personally like to hear all the stories, I just dont want to hear people abusing each other because of different beliefs  >:(
