Hi, My name is Bruce and I'm an active 55 year old male. Right hip was bone on bone (Osteoarthritis) and the left is nearly there. Just had the left done a week ago and amazingly there is no joint pain. I can stand straight up  for the first time in three years and put on my socks with no joint pain for the first time this morning. So far amazing. Heading back to the office tomorrow.

Hey Bruce, welcome to the site.  Excellent that it went well, just be careful in your recuperation, make sure you let it heal correctly.

What was the device used, did they give you any restrictions? Are you doing physical therapy?

Welcome again.

Used the Birmingham. Gave me a lengthy list of exercises which I am following. I absolutely intend on letting it heal. Unfortunately the left will probably have to be done in six months, so I am a ways off from continuing my normal workouts.

If you have to do it, it's definitely something to look forward to, the complete new beginning of your hips.

I had three months in between, after the first I was psyched to get the second done, especially after the first kicked in and started running circles around the second.

Congrats!   I am surprised to hear about your socks.  My doctor told me not to go past 90 degrees for at least 6 weeks.  My arms aren't long enough to reach my foot without going past 90 degrees.   ;D

Bruce - well done - take your time and learn to enjoy the lack of pain - Cheers - Phill
