To all the Skiing/Riding Hippies.
Kick butt on the mountain. Be safe and enjoy what those new hips can do. Just pray for snow here in the mountains of Colorado...We need it bad.
All the best from this "old time" Bi-Lat. Happy and Healthy New Year.

Thanks!  Looking for snow here in New England too.  I am supposed to ski with my 19-year old daughter over X-Mas up at Okemo.  My first skiing since the surgery!

Hi Shelly,
Great to hear from a happy skiing bi-lat. I still have not done my second hip, but probably soon.
We have been having a great season so far. Sun Valley has had one of the best early seasons in the past forty+ years that I have been there. My powder skis have been seeing a lot of mileage for early season.
Right now we are up in Canada for our annual heli-skiing week at Wiegele's, and conditions are truly epic. We have been having good avalanche stability, bottomless light powder with 10+" of new each of the past few days; so lots of face shots and over-the-head powder. A lot of the steep tree runs up here have tons of pillow drops, with lots of freefalls in the two to six foot range. I have to say that I have developed total confidence in my resurfaced hip on these drops, even when some of eight or ten footers really buckle me on landing.
Hope that Colorado gets some big snow soon so that you can join in the fun!

Great to hear and see the skier/riders on this site. I think you brought good luck as we are expecting 15+" tonite thru Sunday here in SW Colorado.
Happy Holidays once again, Shelly

My goal is to get back to cross country skiing this year after sitting out last.  I want to learn how to skate ski so I can keep up with my kids.  Bring on the snow!
