I haven't noticed any problems with the cold in my post op hip.  I live in Ohio and it is 28 F today.  Now my other natural joints are a different story.
I am 4 months out.

My Dr mentioned that some people become "a human barometer."  It's been cold here and the muscles of my new hip are a little sore, but the arthritis in my other hip is killing me.  Time for round 2 soon :-\

A couple of days ago it was 10 below here in Minnesota when I went to work.  I didn't notice any affect on my RBHR (11/19).

Since I make my living skiing, I must admit that I was concerned about this, but it has not been a problem so far. I have been on skis every day for two weeks now, with average morning temperatures of around zero degrees, and a couple of days starting out at five to ten below zero. I felt absolutely no affect on my new hip from the cold. :)
