What else....Hip Replacement

Hi Cindy,

I just had a THR on Feb 2 2009.  It was my 3rd hip surgery in 5 months.  I also did not want to go that route and I did investigate the hip resurfacing but I was not a candidate.  Anyway, I went through the surgery and I am so pleased.  For the first time in years  I am pain free (in the grion area) and it feels great.  Please don't be afraid, it is not as bad as I thought it would be.  I am 5 wks post -op and getting better every day.  Good luck and if you have any qustions, please let me know.

I would like to say a realy big thank you for all your very helpful replies......especially the one from Obxpelican [and yes I know its NOT Cancer...TG].......You say the fact I have cysts should not matter that much, that's good to know.....
I was also told by my consultant that my back problems would still exist....but that is bearable and has never stopped me from doing anything......
Its the hip that's caused most pain and discomfort for me in doing anything....but I struggle on... :(

I have to say that I am not familiar with all the abbreviations used for the various hip-replacements.....there is a lot for me to learn.... :o
I will do as much research as possible...........lastly I would like to add my good wishes to Cindy and hope that all goes well for you, god bless you....... :)
